Act Today to
Help Us Protect More Than
1.7 Million Acres of Your Local Forest
A message to you from our Executive Director...
Today, we need your help.
We’re a community-based nonprofit organization working every day
to safeguard the forest from threats like oil drilling, lawless
logging, illegal off-road vehicle abuse, and other environmental
damage.
I'd like to
invite you to support our efforts and become one of our partners
in preservation. Your donation of
$20, $35, $50 or more will help strengthen one of the most
effective local conservation groups working to protect our
region’s public lands.

Since 2004,
ForestWatch has been at the forefront of efforts to protect your
public lands from damage caused by oil development, lawless
logging, illegal off-road vehicle abuse, and other forest
threats.
We've
protected more than 10,000 acres from oil development that would
have come dangerously close to our region's natural treasures -
the Los Padres National Forest, the Carrizo Plain National
Monument, and the Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge.
We're
protecting more than 7,300 acres of ancient forests from lawless
logging proposals. We've demanded that officials prepare
legally-mandated environmental studies to protect these
magnificent forests.
And we're
documenting hundreds of miles of illegal off-road vehicle trails
created by reckless off-roaders who don't stay on the designated
trails.
Our
members - people like you - have helped us come this far and
achieve so much. Now
we need your help to continue our work. Oil
companies, developers, and extractive industries will
continue their push to plunder our natural treasures for
profit. ForestWatch will have to work harder than ever to
protect these wide open spaces – places we value for their
clean water, wildlife habitat, and recreation opportunities,
as well as the benefits they provide to our local economies
and quality of life.
Our best hope
to protect the Los Padres National Forest is to have you become
a member of ForestWatch. Your
commitment of $20, $35, $50 or more will go directly towards our
on-the-ground efforts to protect the national forest, and it
will have an immediate benefit.
It’s not every
day that you have a chance to protect over 1.7 million
acres of open space. And when we’re talking about the
Los Padres National Forest – a globally unique ecosystem and one
of the most popular forests in the country – it’s even more
special.
I hope you’ll seize this unique opportunity and make a
commitment to protect your national forest.
With your help, we can continue our important work.
Sincerely,

Jeff Kuyper
Executive Director
